VDP. GRAND CRU

Products of the best vineyards in Germany - dry Grand Cru (great growth) wines, Premier Cru (first growth) wines (Rheingau) and fruity sweet Prädikat wines (high-quality wines). The top terroirs feature exact demarcation lines separating individual lots of land and are assigned to specific grape varieties and taste profiles; maximum yield 50 hl/ha, selective hand harvest, must weight needs to at least equal the one of a Spätlese (late harvest) wine; marketing time: for fruity sweet Prädikat wines from 1 May, for Grand Cru wines from 1 September; for red wines one year later.

 

VDP. PREMIER CRU

Wines from traditional and high-quality vineyards.


From a multiplicity of wine-growing locations (according to the German wine law), a small group of characterful, traditional vineyards has been classified. No restrictions regarding taste profiles, maximum yield 60 hl/ha, regionally stipulated grape varieties and higher must weight.

VDP.ORTSWEIN

VDP.Ortswein beschreibt eine interessante Stufe unserer Weinklassifikation. Zu der Rebsortencharakteristik die unser Gutriesling schon zeigt, kommen bei dieser Stufe die Einflüsse der Herkunft hinzu.

Unkompliziert zeigen sich hier die Ortschaftentypischen Einflüsse!

VDP. ESTATE WINE

Basic high-level wines


Cultivation of at least 80% of the traditional and region-specific grape varieties recommended by the Association of German Growers of Prädikat wine (VDP). Yield restriction max. 75 hl/ha; regionally stipulated higher minimum must weight.
